Hi, I’m Caroline.
I’m an exited founder, executive coach, and early sales consultant and advisor.
I’m the founder and principal of The Extra Group, a consultancy and training company for non-traditional founders and startups.
After starting my career in adult education, I developed a deep interest in how workers could gain easier access to springboard career opportunities. This led me to build Skillist, an identity-blind, skills-based hiring platform. My founding team and I built a zero-to-one product, raised venture capital, and won blue-chip customers like Wayfair, Drizly, Better.com, and DraftKings. Skillist sold to Opportunity@Work in 2020.
I later joined Lattice, a late-stage HR tech startup. As part of Lattice’s Go-to-Market org in Product Marketing, I designed GTM strategies and product launches, primarily for their career development and compensation product lines.
I have been coaching since completing my Master’s in Education at Harvard University in 2016. I was advised by renowned psychologist and author of Immunity to Change, Dr. Bob Kegan. In my coaching practice, I integrate Dr. Kegan’s adult development theory, social cognitive career theory, experiential learning pedagogies — in addition to tried-and-true coaching tools and frameworks.
I am a GTM coach for Visible Hands, an inclusive VC firm, and supports bold founders and teams backed by the likes of Echoing Green, ReThink Education, Roddenberry Foundation, Camelback, Halcyon, and The David Prize.
I currently serve on the Board of Trustees for I sit on the Board of Trustees for Franklin Cummings Tech, a technical college in Boston. I also participate in climate action with Extinction Rebellion.
